Have you ever thought about exploring another region of Canada, meeting new people, learning Canada’s official languages and exploring Canada’s cultural diversity? The YMCA, through the support of Canadian Heritage, offers two exchange programs for young people residing in Canada, where this and much more can happen.
The Youth Exchanges Canada program is designed for groups of 10 to 30 participants between the ages of 12 and 17. Participants are paired with same-age groups from another province or territory, and they travel to each other’s communities, staying for at least 5 days. For more information about the YEC program, click here.
The Summer Work Student Exchange program offers youth aged 16-17 the opportunity to gain paid work experience, practice their second official language skills, and discover another community within Canada. For more information about the SWSE program, click here.
