At the Y, we believe that play is the primary way in which children learn. That's why our dedicated Early Childhood Educators implement our acclaimed YMCA Playing to Learn™ Curriculum at our Licensed Child Care Centres throughout the GTA.
Here to help your little one discover the world through play and imagination, our YMCA Playing to Learn™ Curriculum offers kids an opportunity to develop their confidence, self-direction and self-regulation. Using play as the primary learning medium, children are introduced to literacy, numeracy, arts, science, and more, while in our care to ensure a smooth transition into primary school.

Looking to enroll your child in a Nursery program during the school year? The Y offers a Licensed Nursery program from September to June every year. Parents may choose to enroll their child 2, 3 or 5 times a week in our Nursery program which runs in the morning and afternoon for 2 1/2 hours each day (hours vary by location). Following a flexible group schedule, Preschoolers in our Nursery program will continue to develop in our care while building on their social skills with new friends. Any new discoveries and milestones achieved by little ones will be communicated with parents through their child's customized Continuum of Development booklet.
For over 50 years, our dedicated Child Care staff have been providing children with the support they need to make a seamless transition into full-day Kindergarten. At our Licensed Child Care Centres, our Registered Early Childhood Educators partner with parents to support their child’s development and provide families with the security of knowing that their child is in a safe and nurturing environment during these formative years.
